The Kenya Nutritionists and Dieticians Institute (KNDI) has launched the Digital Attachment Logbook, a secure online platform for students completing their clinical attachment as part of the KNDI Indexing process. The Digital Attachment Logbook is available exclusively to students who have applied for KNDI Indexing and have an active, paid indexing application. What Is the Digital Attachment Logbook?
The Digital Attachment Logbook replaces the traditional paper-based logbook used during your clinical attachment. It allows you to:
– Record your daily activities, including the wards and rotation areas you worked in
– Submit weekly log summaries covering your objectives, key encounters, skills gained, and reflections
– Upload your Case Study as PDFs
– Write your Reflective Summary on your overall attachment experience
– Track supervisor approvals in real time
– Download a full PDF copy of your completed logbook at any time
All entries are saved securely and remain intact even if your session expires.

How the Approval Process Works
The logbook follows a structured four-stage approval chain:
1. You complete all required entries and uploads. Your rotation internship supervisor(s) comment on your weekly logs and approve their assigned weeks. It is upon you as the student to enter your rotation internship supervisor(s) information so that they can be able to access your attachment logbook.
2. Your Head of Department assigns a training supervisor to your logbook.
3. Once all requirements are met, you submit for review. Your training supervisor reviews the full logbook and either approves it or requests corrections.
4. Your Head of Department gives the final Campus Approval. Your attachment is then officially signed off and your logbook is archived.
You can monitor your progress at every stage directly from your logbook screen.

What You Need to Complete Before You Can Submit
The Submit for Review button only becomes available once all of the following are in place:
– At least 8 weekly logs submitted with daily entries recorded
– Case Study written and uploaded as a PDF
– Reflective Summary completed
– A training supervisor assigned to your logbook by your Head of Department
– All assigned rotation internship supervisors have commented on your submitted weeks
– All assigned rotation internship supervisors have approved their weeks
The requirements panel on your logbook screen shows your live progress against each of these.

Important Notes for Students
– Enter your daily logs regularly, fill them at the end of every day.
– Your rotation supervisor must approve all your weekly logs before you can submit. Contact them early if they have not yet acted on your weeks.
– The verification code sent at login expires in 15 minutes. If it does not arrive, check your spam folder and request a new one.
– You cannot edit your logbook after submission unless a supervisor sends it back with a correction request.
– If your facility is not listed in the system, type the name and use the option to submit it as a pending facility. The KNDI team will confirm it.
